  1. Slice the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the pulp into a medium bowl. Mash with a fork, leaving some chunks. Add lime juice, salt, pepper, chopped cilantro, red onion, and garlic. Mix thoroughly.
  2. If serving later, cover tightly with plastic wrap to prevent browning. Serve with chips, vegetables, or as a spread.
