Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup mashed over ripe bananas
  • 1.25 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (176°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the melted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until smooth. Then fold in the mashed bananas.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, form dough into 2-tablespoon-sized balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
