  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooked long-grain white rice
  • 4 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 8–10 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Stir in the cooked rice, shredded cabbage, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the casserole is bubbly.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top and bake for an additional 5–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve hot with a side of crusty bread or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
