  • 6 cups corn flakes cereal
  • 0.5 cup salted butter
  • 2.25 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 32 oz vanilla ice cream firm enough to shape but just soft enough to scoop
  • to taste honey or caramel sauce
  • to taste chocolate fudge sauce
  • to taste sweetened whipped cream
  • to taste cherries (fresh or maraschino)

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Crush cornflakes: Pour cornflakes into a resealable bag, seal and crush into small bits.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in crushed cornflakes and cinnamon, cook until golden and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  3. Remove mixture from heat and cool in a shallow dish.
  4. Shape the ice cream into balls and place on a tray.
  5. Roll each ice cream ball in the cooled cornflake mixture, pressing to coat thoroughly.
  6. Freeze the coated ice cream balls for 10-15 minutes to re-solidify.
  7. Serve with toppings like honey, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and cherries.
