Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully unroll or press the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate. Crimp the edges as desired for a decorative finish.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and ground nutmeg until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Fold in the diced cooked ham, corn kernels, finely chopped yellow onion, and shredded cheddar cheese into the egg mixture. Stir gently until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Pour the prepared filling into the pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the ham corn tart is set in the center and the top is beautifully golden brown. A knife inserted near the center should come out clean.
- Remove the tart from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the tart to firm up and prevents crumbling.
Notes
This ham corn tart is versatile and can be enjoyed warm, at room temperature, or even cold. It's fantastic for brunch, lunch, or a light dinner. Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
