  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 carrots carrots sliced into thin rounds
  • 2 small yellow onions onions chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 0.5 cup dry white wine like pinot grigio
  • 2 fresh tomatoes tomatoes diced
  • 3 tablespoons butter cut into pats
  • 10.5 lasagna noodles lasagna noodles cooked according to package
  • Bechamel Sauce
  • shredded Parmesan cheese
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan.
  2. Add sliced carrots and chopped onions; cook for 3 minutes. Mix in minced garlic; cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add ground beef; cook until browned, breaking it apart.
  4. Pour in white wine; cook for 10 minutes over medium heat.
  5. Stir in diced tomatoes; bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, melt butter in a pan. Whisk in flour and slowly add milk, whisking until it boils. Season with salt and pepper, simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  8. Grease a baking dish and spread a layer of béchamel sauce. Layer noodles, meat sauce, béchamel, and sprinkle parmesan. Repeat layers ending with béchamel and cheese.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes until browned and bubbly. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
