Preparation Steps
- Preheat oven to 300°F. Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Stir in water gradually until the batter is thin and smooth.
- Divide batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-33 minutes. Let cakes cool completely.
- In a mixing bowl, beat butter and 3/4 cup Nutella until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream, beating well after each addition.
- Level the cakes, then spread a layer of Nutella buttercream between layers and frost the outside of the cake.
- Make ganache by heating Nutella, chocolate chips, and heavy whipping cream until smooth. Pour over the cake and decorate with Ferrero Rocher candies.
