- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Return the skillet to medium heat. Add ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine and cook for 5 minutes.
- While the meat mixture is simmering, toast the hamburger buns with butter until golden brown.
- Spoon the meat mixture onto the toasted buns, top with pickles if desired, and serve immediately.
