  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper

  1. In a small bowl, stir together all of the spices until well combined. Ensure there are no clumps and the mixture is uniform.
  2. Store the seasoning mix in an airtight container, such as a glass mason jar, in your spice cabinet or pantry. It will stay fresh for several months.

Notes

This homemade taco seasoning makes about 32 teaspoons, which is equivalent to several store-bought packets. Use about 2-3 tablespoons per pound of ground meat, adjusting to your taste preferences.
